FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

Cape Town is just the most wonderful city for visitors and tourists. I love the good condition that the major public areas are in. The roads are in great condition, well marked and sign-posted. Signage is around for everything. While it is a busy city, I always find it very easy to get around in. There is so much to do and see and some world class shopping malls. It is always sad when I need to leave Cape Town, I can never have too much time there.

Cape Town is a city of contrasts, where the natural and the man-made blend together in a mesmerizing symphony of beauty and sophistication. This South African gem nestles at the foot of Table Mountain and is surrounded by the glistening waters of the Atlantic Ocean, offering breathtaking panoramic views that will leave you speechless. Location was perfect for getting around Cape Town. We walked to the waterfront, grocery store a block away, and convenient to get to attractions in nearby towns. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs and it was easy to get a hold of them (via whatsapp or Bookings messenger) when we needed info or help with anything. We stayed here with our two kids, 9 and 13, and everyone enjoyed the stay. Highly recommend staying here for your visit.

Location was good, although downtown Cape Town is a little sketchy at times, which was even suggested to us by the staff, who advised us not to go to the Bo-Kaap area, for instance. Close to all sites and only 30 minutes walk to the Waterfront. Parking was excellent and cheap! Staff was attentive and courteous. Amenities provided in the rom were fine and public areas were clean and spacious. Breakfast provided was good.

LOCATION WAS PERFECT FOR US AS WE PARTICIPATED IN THE CAPE TOWN 10 SPORTS TOURNAMENT. SPECIAL PRICES ADVERTISED FOR HOTEL ROOMS DURING NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER WAS AFFORDABLE FOR ALL TEAM MEMBERS SO THIS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO COME. THE HUSSLE AND BUSSLE OF SEA POINT WAS WHAT WE WANTED AS WE COME FROM A SMALL TOWN. MAYBE IF WE WERE ON HOLIDAY THE NOISE WOULD NOT BE SO NICE BUT FOR US IT WAS GREAT.

The hotel is very well-situated in Sea Point. The room was spacious and clean, the indoor courtyard was beautiful, both Shoreditch and Harvey's were very good (popular venues that locals also visit), and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a generator that shields you from load shedding. Above all, it's a great place to base yourself when visiting Cape Town and nearby areas.
