Trier is an interesting town, however be aware all the facilities & services you might be familiar with & expecting, may not be available. Such as; taxi, Uber, restaurants open outside of regular hours - these may all be an issue, according to what we experienced.
Some of this was due to Christmas & New Years limited hours and services. Taxis and Uber-type services are an issue, and appear unreliable.

I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me.
I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me. The main tourist attractions are easily searchable online but the city is small enough to be completely walkable. I was there at the end of November and there were already Christmas markets set up which was fun to walk around - buy the Glühwein (mulled wine) if you're there at that time.
You have to eat at Weinstube Zum Domstein! They have traditional Roman food offerings which were delicious. I loved the meal so much, especially sitting in the Roman Basement (Römer Keller) where they have displayed Roman artifacts. Such a cool dining experience.

Trier is quaint and manageable for a small city.
Trier is quaint and manageable for a small city. Friendly and hospitable locals. There were enough English-speaking workers in various establishments. I enjoyed the walking trails. The city has a lot to offer for Roman history enthusiasts. It has a far reaching and interesting history as a city in its own right.

Trier is a beautiful town with historical buildings and a lot of interesting things to see and do!
Everything is close together in walking distance!
Nice restaurants with traditional food and friendly service. Lots of shopping options for all wallets and interests. Town maps and signs all over the town are helping to find what you want.
We loved the market squares and the Weinbrunnen in the middle where you get a lovely glass of wine most hours!
This is a 'way above average' hotel. Why? The staff is very friendly and flexible, the rooms are clean, the beds are excellent and large, and there is a private parking that's fully surveyed by camera's. On top of that: the beautiful city center of Trier is very close, and if you need basic stuff: there are 2 supermarkets, and a bakery close by. We only spent 2 days here but would come back to this hotel. Last but not least: excellent breakfast.
The rooms are accessible by an elevator and are individually airconditioned.
The location was excellent. It was a ten-minute walk straight down the street to the hotel, which is sitting right next to the Porta Nigra (one of the most important sites in Trier). It is also at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. Perfect for someone arriving by train, but they also have free parking if you come by car. The breakfast was also excellent with lots of options, and there is no problem getting gluten-free options. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Great value.
Best Western Hotel Trier City is located in central Trier within a short bus or taxi ride from the train station. The hotel and room are fine, but the Wi-Fi situation (at least on the 2nd floor where my room was) was unacceptable for a business-style hotel. For the two days I was at the hotel, the Wi-Fi signal only worked sporadically and when it did it was only at very low speeds. I asked reception to fix the problem, but they told me there was nothing they could do. Disappointing.
Clean rooms and comfortable beds, they had a breakfast option and coffee was available all day. We experienced all types of rooms during our two stays, they have Spacious apartments for rent, nice comfortable queen rooms, and even small dormer rooms for single travelers. The staff was very nice and accommodating. A good place to stay if you’re in Trier, and good for traveling around the different areas of that region of Germany.
A simple, stylish hotel room within an easy walk to the main square of Trier. Comfortable room, spacious enough to accommodate all our luggage, good beds and pillows, a window that opened. Paid parking under the hotel with easy access to lobby and rooms. We received a very warm welcome from the young man on the front desk who was very personable and had a good sense of humour. An excellent overnight stop.
Breakfast is exceptional, so are the various hotel restaurants. Very courteous and professional staff, with no exception. Although the city centre is not in walking distance, Trier’s excellent public transit allowed us to get around easily. There’s a bus stop in very close proximity to the hotel; it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the city centre. We happily abstained from using our car.
This is a small, traditional hotel ideal for people who are in Trier to discover the city and surroundings and just need a place to sleep. Everything is rather old-fashioned but clean and perfectly working. No stressing electronic gadgets in your door - just classical lock and key. You don't have to think to use the shower. Friendly staff, comfortable beds. Good breakfast.
One of the softest and most comfortable beds I've ever had in a hotel. Breakfast was worth the add-on, and the room, though small was cozy, clean, and had plenty of storage for its size. It's Germany so A/C isn't a thing, but that's normal here. The hotel restaurant is genuinely nice and the food quite good. The staff is amicable and helpful.
The hotel is located outside of the Hauptmarkt but close enough to everything. The arrangement of the hotel rooms is a bit odd, with lots of ups and downs, perhaps due to the connection of two buildings. The interior of the room reflects this unusually arrangement. But, overall it is quite comfortable.
A very fair priced, small boutique hotel,at the center of the city of Trier, clean, warm, with very good and polite personnel and room service the only negative point is that has no parking space .A must for young people couples or small budget travellers .Wish to come back soon.wir werden wieder sehen.
Really like the Roman theme and the way it is done.
Breakfast is great and very peaceful compared to many hotels.
Location is excellent, slap bang in the middle of town. Early arrivals (recommended so you can see something of Trier) can get a handy parking spot right next or very near reception,
Our room was lovely and comfortable. We were on the street side, but the room was soundproof and we didn't hear anything, even though there were busy restraunts below us. The hotel was in a perfect location, close to the Porta Nigra and Hauptmarkt.
The location is great. From the hotel you can easily get to all locations in Trier by foot.
Also the breakfast is above average.
We also got a gift when checking out which I do appreciate
Beautiful clean hotel in the heart of Trier. Easy to access everything and parking nearby. Very large bathrooms with both tub and shower. Quiet throughout the night.
