Beautiful hotel at walking distance from the ruins, definitely worth seeing ! Nice attention to details, they made a fire for the sunset and the staff is really polite and quiet. They even recommend us which Cenote to visit and help us organise the transportation.

Ruins are amazing, spread out and shaded under trees.

Ruins are amazing, spread out and shaded under trees. You can bike ride and enjoy the breeze. Lots of opportunities for pictures. No breakfast or tea/coffee place close by. Better to tour ruins if you have tour guide. We saw both coba and tulum but our favorite was coba. We ate at local outdoor restaurant within 5 min of our hotel on first night. Hotel we stayed at coba Kaab closes their kitchen by 6 pm and breakfast not till 7:30. Most places in Mexico open later in the mornings. Small stores where you can buy packaged food like cookies, ramen noodles, and fresh fruit. Safe area to walk around close to hotel. Better if you can speak some Spanish with locals. They are very nice. No nightlights so be back at hotel before sun sets. Random dogs in street.. but not rabid or dangerous.. just hungry.

The coba pyramid is the main attraction. there's a small town with a few restaurants and convenience stores. We enjoyed touring Coba, and we loved the Cenotes nearby. The area is very pretty and natural. We took several car trips and enjoyed some peace and tranquility away from the tourist areas. it's not that far from Tulum so we took a few day trips to the beach.

Coba is a quiet peaceful town without the daily hustle and bustle that you find in nearby Tulum. It allows you access to Tulum (45 minutes away), Chichen Itza and Valladolid. You can visit 3 underground cenotes, a ten minute taxi ride away, which are quite different from surface cenotes in many other areas. You can also visit a small Mayan ecological, cultural presevation and education site located in a settlement of four families very near two of the cenotes. It is low key yet very informative. A small meal expertly prepared is available as well as both medicinal and nutritional preparations of honey. It is extraordinary.

Coba is a lovely town, with great people. We spent 3 days there and in the area. Lots of little great places to eat, there is the ruins of course, the cenotes were fun, and the kids loved looking at the crocs! My husband enjoyed going on some great runs while there and I just loved walking around a small Mexican town.

    Coba is a gem.

Coba is a gem. The archaeological site is unique, where you can hire someone to ride you around on a bike taxi (an important source of income for families in the village), rent a bike for yourself, or hike. You can also hire a guide in numerous languages. Nohoch Mul is the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan and the last one that you can climb (that will likely at some point in the near future). The village itself is charming and the people who live there friendly and happy to receive tourists. There are lots of lunch options in the village (I recommend RICOS Pollos asados with Rosi and Araceli Caamal) and a few restaurants open for dinner (our favorite is the Chile Picante, at the north end of the village). If you visit the site, you should also spend some time walking around the village and going into some of the family-owned pole and thatch shops for souvenirs. There is a shop on the south side where beautiful batiks are made on site. In addition to the site and village, there are 4 cenotes within a couple of miles of the village (just outside to the south and much less touristy than those along the coast), and the Punta Laguna monkey reserve, about 15 minutes up the road going to Nuevo Xcan. My favorite place to stay is the Hotel Maya- the rooms are beautiful and inexpensive. A lovely family owns and runs the hotel and provides exceptional service. Sitting in the veranda in the evening with a good book is one of the my favorite things to do. Coba is centrally located, where you can easily get to Tulum, Valladolid, Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and Rio Lagartos- it's an inexpensive place to stay while you explore other wonderful places in the Yucatan.

We went to visit the ruins on Sunday and afterwards we wanted to rent a bicycle to go to the cenotes but there were no bicycle available, so my advice is not to visit Coba on a Sunday if you plan to rent a bicycle to visit the cenotes.

We had a wonderful time at Lol-Ha. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. They gave us access to drinking water which was very convenient. The room is spacious, comfortable, clean, and well-located in the village (walking distance to the ruins, two corner stores right next door, and several restaurants nearby). The hotel also has a restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying there :)

Neutral Smell of bed and room. Internet a bit weak but works mostly fine. Moskito Nets at the windows had no holes but were sometimes not neatly attached to the frame. This can be fixed with some tape however. Bathroom seemed renovated. No breakfast available but there is a store right under the hotel that sells fresh fruit, and the hotel provided bowls and cutlery, so we had fresh guacamole every morning.

It was very beautiful to be surrounded by the jungle noises away from the busy cities. The place is spotless, the staff is very helpful even with special requests and the restaurant even has an excellent vegan option. It is possible to borrow a bike to visit the ruins of Cobá and the surrounding area. The place is easy to reach without a car as the local bus stops directly at the hotel if you ask.

The palapa is truly magical, located very close to the Coba ruins, but on the edge of town, so it is very quiet. At night I could hear a rare nocturnal bird from our room! The room was cozy, clean, and secure. I slept very well. Poncho is a very hospitable and kind host! We both enjoyed speaking with him and wish we had had more time to spend in his magical space. We hope to return one day!

This place has the best staff in whole Mexico! My partner and I traveled through many cities of southern Mexico for three weeks, and no place has been as welcoming as this one! They made us a huge breakfast and treated us like family. We were so amazed by the service!!! Would only go to this hotel if we come back again, if we go back to Cobá again.

This hotel was very nice. The decor was beautiful, as was the landscaping. Everyone in the service department was top-notch and tried to go out of their way to do anything that they could to make our stay as close to perfect as possible. It was a refreshing stay in Coba. The town is basically dry, so having some cervesas available here was a big plus.

The room and swimming pool were perfectly clean. The rooms are big, and so was the bed . We did the check in with Alberto, who led us to our room. He was very kind, and always asked us if we needed anything. He advised us on a restaurant where to have dinner. Overall we had a great stay, and it is located 5min drive from the Coba ruins and cenotes !

The rooms were lovely. Really cute, comfortable, with a fan and air conditioning (needed, even during winter). There is a really cute restaurant attached to the hotel. Delicious food and not expensive. And the hotel is only 10-15 minutes walk to the Coba archeological site. Perfect to arrive for the opening and avoid the crowd.
