The amount of effort for leisure put into the Forest Lodge left us speechless! The staff was very accommodating, welcoming and on-the-ball the whole time. The secluded location with 360 degree breathtaking nature views. The Forest Lodge is about 100m from the start of an amazing hiking trail which is kept in pristine condition, and as apposed to most confusing hiking trails, this one is extensively mapped out. The hiking trial leads to a gorgeous secluded waterfall which was amazing to see! Additionally, we were blown away by the amazing fireplace within the lodge, the unit is excessively stocked with firewood which was extremely appreciated as we booked during a cold-front so the lodge was always nice and toasty due to being equipped with everything we needed to keep the fire going. The glass cover of the fireplace was amazing as well as there is no immediate risk of coals jumping out, and no freshly washed hair or clothes was affected by the smell accompanied by a wooden fireplace. The lounge is spacious and we had the best time relaxing (and playing the provided board games) in front of the fireplace in the evenings. The Green Egg is also a very impressive touch as it enables you to braai, smoke or make pizza on the deck overlooking the river right below. The lodge and surrounding nature is kept in amazing condition for guests which was appreciated. The lodge was equipped with extra freehand rechargeable lights, which also came in handy. They really thought of everything - even a Rockwood labelled XL backpack if you want to go on the hiking trail.
