Best part was David the host who was happy to share local knowledge and recommendations for attractions and dining. We learnt a lot about the architecture of Amsterdam from him, which loved listening to.

Hotel Restaurant Old Bridge welcomes guests with a restaurant and bar in the city centre of Amsterdam. Central station is 250 metres away. Some rooms at this budget hotel offer canal views. just like we were warned there are stairs. The room is basic but extremely clean. The staff were all so friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating. the price was great as we were right in the heart of everything. great walking area, with food, shops etc. Would highly recommend and if we ever have the chance to return would stay again at this hotel.

This boutique-style hotel is located in a 16th century canal house, a 5-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. There is free Wi-Fi access. Super central, bed was so comfortable! The room was really cosy and we were complimented with a late check out

Artist House features rooms named after famous Dutch artists with free Wi-Fi. They are only 180 metres from Nieuwmarkt Metro Station and the Rembrandt House Museum is 350 metres away. A beautiful stylish apartment, in a historic building, very clean, and comfortable. A great host who is very helpful in directing what to do and where to go. A great location. Even though it is just off a large busy square in the centre of the city it was very quiet and I slept very well. Immediately outside the door is an amazing choice of restaurants and bars and a decent supermarket directly across the square. I certainly would stay there again and I recommend this place to single travellers or couples looking to explore the centre on foot.
